Children

childrens ministry

In addition to affirming the belief that young people make important contributions to our worship life, we also recognise that they have special needs, so a variety of activities are available for children and young people. The Sunday morning KUCA program runs each week (except school holidays), and provides a range of group based activities for a variety of ages from 3 - 12 years.

The children leave half way though the worship service to pursue the KUCA program downstairs in a specially equipped children's area. Throughout the year there are also special events, such as Kids Campout, sleepovers, concerts etc. Babies and children under 3 years are very welcome and receive a "Rainbow Bag" each week and there is a special area set aside in the church for young children to play and learn.

Playgroup

On Tuesday mornings between 10am - 11.30am the Port Playgroup meets in the Children's Room at the church. This has a doorway leading through to a courtyard garden with lawn and a sandpit. The children love the play inside and out while their parents have a cuppa and chat. Many activities are provided including painting, playdough, collage and dress-ups.

Each session ends with a story and song-time. For more details ring the church on 8240 0200 or email Norm Bennett.

Kids' Club

Kids' Club runs from 5pm to 7pm on the first Friday of each month. Located downstairs in the children's area of the church, sessions include a light tea, games, stories and craft experiences. Kids' Club is for school children aged 5-12 years and costs $2 per child.

For more details ring the church on 8240 0200 or email Norm Bennett.

Youth Group

The youth group, known as Ichthus, meet each Friday night either at 'The Bowl', located behind the main church building or at one of the leaders homes.

The meets alternate between nurture nights (held at the home of that nights' leader) and community nights (at 'The Bowl').

The youth group are also actively involved in the music and worship on Sundays.
